For the first time, the Swiss National Museum is now offering insight into the comprehensive archives of the ‘Presse Diffusion Lausanne’ and ‘Actualité Suisse Lausanne’ press photography agencies which were recently incorporated into the museum’s collection. A fascinating selection of significant events, unforgettable moments, celebrity snaps and portraits of everyday heroes form the core of the collection. The collection encompasses everything from carefully planned photo reportages of everyday life in the 40s and 50s to an impressive image-based chronicle of the second half of the 20th century and the fast-paced digital world of the modern-day photo agency «Keystone».

Art on Ice is much more than just an ice skating gala. Art on Ice presents an outstandingly choreographed extravaganza, a colorful interplay between the best ice skaters in the world and music stars, dancers and acrobats.

Mick Hucknall of Simply Red will be the guest star for Art on Ice 2012 in Zurich. The world’s best will shine on the ice, led by Stéphane Lambiel.

Zurich Marathon

42.195 km along Zürich’s lakefront. The beautifully varied route has almost no ascents, with less than 30 metres of climbing, making possible fast race times. Spectators and athletes can expect numerous festivities in the lakeside towns, as well as a large marquee and a children's paradise in the Landiwiese meadow.

The Zurich Pride Festival from June 08- June 17, 2012 includes the Zurich Pride Week, an opening and closing party, 2 days Festival area with bars, food and big stage shows, several gay and lesbian orientated parties, LGBT themed conventions, cultural and cinematic shows as well as a politically motivated party parade throughout the city centre. Up to 40'000 visitors are expected to join this festival.
