The Kunsthaus Zürich has about 4000 paintings and sculptures and 95,000 graphic works, one of the most important art collections in Switzerland, from the 13th century to the present. About 1000 works are permanently exhibited.
Highlights include not only the largest Munch collection outside Norway and the most extensive collection of works by Alberto Giacometti, but also outstanding Impressionist and Classical Modern paintings - from Picasso, Monet and Chagall to Beckmann, Kokoschka and Corinth.
Works by artists such as Rothko, Twombly, Beuys and Baselitz are represented alongside the Pop Art of Warhol and Hamilton. Video installations and photographs such as those by Fischli/Weiss or Pipilotti Rist lead up to the 21st century.
The Kunsthaus is located in the old town of Zurich just a good 10-minute walk from Hotel Alexander.
