Eidgenössische Trachtenfest 2024
From 28 - 30 June 2024, the city of Zurich will host the Federal Festival of Traditional Costumes for the third time after 1939 and 1974.
This is how it will sound throughout Switzerland from spring 2024. From 28 - 30 June 2024, the city of Zurich will host the big gathering of traditional costume enthusiasts, the Swiss National Costume Festival, for the third time after 1939 and 1974. In addition to Sechseläuten, Street Parade, Knabenschiessen and the World Cycling Championships, the city on the Limmat will welcome another major event this year.
Trachten people from all cantons and language regions will present themselves with dancing, singing and music and invite the city, the population of the canton of Zurich and guests from near and far to join in the celebrations and participate. We Trachten people are warm and communicative people. We look forward to welcoming many participants from the fields of folk music, yodelling, flag-waving and alphorn blowing. We also welcome brass bands and choirs.
The Federal Costume Festival Zurich 2024 will therefore be a great meeting of friendship between associations and traditional groups - together with the population. Numerous highlights such as the four-language folk song concert in the church of
St. Peter's Church, the folk dance gala in the Kongresshaus and the folk dance and youth festival on Sechseläutenplatz will add a splash of colour to the events on the festival grounds, the Stadthaus complex, Münsterhof, Lindenhof and in the station concourse.
